Air Conditioning Service Tip
Posted on March 29th, 2009 2 commentsThe other day a client asked me “What’s the best thing to do to save money with your air conditioning system?”
I told him, the main thing is what you really need to do is just maintain the system. If you change your filter, at least 4 times a year, that’ll help improve the airflow and make the system cool properly for you.
Also on the outside unit, clean the condenser coil, and it’s a very very simple process. Usually there’s a box on the outside, a disconnect box that looks like a breaker, you just open it up and turn it off. You get a water hose and you get over there and you just start spraying through the grills until you see the dirt go a way. Just take your time. You’re probably gonna get a little wet because the water is gonna be spraying on you. But as long as all that dirt is gone outside, the unit can breath easier, and if that outside unit can breath easier, then it saves you money. Because the air conditioner can work easier and the compressor doesn’t have to work as hard (the compressor is the electric motor that uses electricity). If it’s under a bind then it’s gonna cost more money. It can really save you money — up to 25 to 33 percent sometimes.

Thanks. I liked your post, do you have more like this? The topic needs lots of research, most people don’t have it.
