What You Need to Know About Air Conditioning Replacement
Posted on February 18th, 2010 No commentsYou really need to be grateful to your wife. If it were not for her, you might not have seen this day. For many years you have spent a good and decent life. Though you might not have all the good things of life, there are many things about which you cannot complain and an air conditioned bedroom are one of them. You still remember the old days when you did not have nay such unit at your home. Those were the days when you used to suffer like anything, especially during the summer months, which used to be just unbearable.
There is one thing like high temperature which cannot be borne, especially if you are returning from the air conditioned environment of office in an air conditioned office bus. The moment you get out of the bus, it seems as if a heat blast has hit you in the chest like a huge iron hammer. If this is not torture enough, there is the humidity factor as well. In order to beat the heat, you go to the bathroom and take a shower immediately after returning home from office… even before taking tea and snacks. It seems to have become a daily routine to take the shower just after returning from office and then sitting down for some tea and snacks.
But during the hot and humid summer evenings, even taking a shower is not enough and by the time you settle down for tea, you are wet again due to perspiration. This is not the way life should be led, especially when you are earning a decent salary per month. Keeping all these things in life, your wife had purchased a small air conditioner that suited your budget and that would not put a dent in your wallet by way of power bills. She was wise enough to go in for just a half ton air conditioner that was sufficient enough to cool your bedroom without chilling the same.
This not only helped you to get rid of the sweat and heat, it also assisted you by not having to face inflated power bills at the end of each month. You just do not know how to thank your wife. Over the years you have toiled hard and your salary has also increased. Of late you have shifted to a new apartment and there are some minor problems. The size of the bedroom in your new apartment is quite bigger than the old one and you old air conditioner is not adequate to cool it.
This is the correct time for an air conditioner replacement. There are many manufacturers who provide special offers by which you can exchange your old and working air conditioner and purchase a new one for a decent discount. Just hunt down for such offers and get yourself a new 1 ton air conditioner for a bit more than what you would have to pay for a half ton one. You also get a free warrantee for one year on the new unit.
In this short article, we discussed only one aspect of air conditioning: air conditioning replacement. If you want to learn more about this topic, e.g. when was air conditioning invented, visit our website now for a historical excursion.

1. You’ll want to choose a qualified and accredited company that has plenty of experience at installing and maintaining the systems they sell. Perhaps you’ll look for testimonials, or word of mouth recommendations to see if the company is what you’re looking for.

5. It’s important that you are shown a large choice of commercial air conditioning systems, so that you are more likely to find exactly what you want and need. If you’re restricted to one manufacturer, then you might not be getting a heating and ventilation system that will properly meet your current of future needs.

8. As well as the installation, you’ll want to make sure that you have a suitable air con maintenance schedule in place, so that your air con is well looked after, and that it is fully serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. This will help to reduce the likelihood of it suddenly failing, and the potentially catastrophic effects of your staff or customers being too hot or too cold.
9. You’ll want to make sure that the installation company will meet the relevant building standards, and are aware of the health and safety, and noise implications, so that your air con is fully legal and efficient.
10. As well as installing your system, you might want ongoing support or help from the company. Perhaps you’ll want to make more use of the features and facilities, or expand the system as your premises expand, or you have more staff. Best Brand of Central Air Conditioner Equipment For Your Home
Posted on March 29th, 2009 3 commentsYou know, I’ve been working on air conditioning for going on 30 years now. There are lots of brands out there but people asks me all the time, whats’ the best brand? To be very honest with you, there’s a lot of good brands out there. The thing is, you can take the worst brand and make it last almost as long as the best brand, as long as it’s installed properly.
A proper installation on the air conditioning system is the most important part of the job. If you get some air conditioning contractor who cuts corners on a certain procedure, it can ruin your equipment. Things like:
- he doesn’t pull a good vacuum on it to make sure there’s no moisture in the air conditioning system or
- he gets the copper line too hot (it will flake up and get into the compressor)
- he doesn’t level the unit and the oil seeps to one side causing the bearings to wear out on one sid
If you’re really looking for an unbiased opinion on just the equipment though, I can tell you this. Consumer Reports ranked the top manufacturers and this is what they decided.
American Standard was number one. Ruud was number two and Trane was number three. The rest of the top companies were TempStar, Rheem, Lennox, Comfort Maker, Bryant, Heil, Coleman, Carrier, Goodman, York and Janitrol.
